Destination Tasman is Motueka’s locally owned taxi, shuttle and tour service, run by Chrissy and Gary from Motueka Taxis Ltd.

We help locals and visitors get around Tasman safely and comfortably: airport transfers, local taxis, private shuttles, luggage transfers, mountain bike transport, wine tours, Golden Bay day tours and more.

Our fleet includes hybrid Toyota wagons, a Toyota AWD RAV4 and a comfortable 12-seat van with 11 passenger seats. For bikes, our trailer carries up to 10 mountain bikes plus luggage.

Whether you are heading to Kaiteriteri, Marahau, Mapua, Nelson, Takaka, Collingwood, Picton, the West Coast or somewhere in between, talk to us about your trip.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to pre-book?

Yes. Pre-booking is recommended for all group transport, tours, airport transfers, Sundays, public holidays and trips outside normal taxi hours. Phone 021 0876 7992 with your date, time, pick-up point, destination, passenger count and luggage or bike needs.

Where does Destination Tasman travel?

We travel to Motueka, Kaiteriteri, Marahau, Mapua, Nelson, Takaka, Collingwood, Tōtaranui, Wainui Bay, Bainham, Cobb Dam, Rameka Track, the Ghost Trail, Flora carpark, Westport, Wakefield, Brightwater and many places in between. If your destination is not listed, ask us for a quote.

What are your taxi hours?

Winter taxi hours are usually 8.00am to midnight Monday to Saturday. Sunday is normally closed unless pre-booked. Sundays and public holidays should be booked at least 24 hours in advance where possible. We are closed Christmas Day.

Can you transport mountain bikes?

Yes. We have a bike rack and a trailer that can carry up to 10 mountain bikes plus luggage. We may carry up to 12 mountain bikes by arrangement using rack and trailer, but e-bikes are limited to 10.

Can you help with airport transfers?

Yes. Nelson Airport transfers are available from Motueka, Kaiteriteri, Marahau and other locations by quote. Please provide flight times, luggage details and passenger numbers when booking.

Can tours be customised?

Yes. Wine tours, Golden Bay tours, personalised sightseeing trips and event transport can often be tailored. Custom routes, additional stops and altered finish points may change the price.

What is your cancellation policy?

Some bookings require a 50% non-refundable deposit. Customer cancellations within 7 days are generally not refunded, although a credit may be offered subject to availability. Cancellations must be phoned through; email or text cancellations may not be accepted. No show, no phone call, no refund.

What is not included in tour prices?

Unless stated otherwise, tour prices do not include lunch, tastings, entry fees, alcohol, personal purchases, accommodation, third-party tours or additional transport operators.
